The International Association of Women Judges in – Uganda Chapter (IAWJ-U)

The International Association of Women Judges in Uganda (IAWJ-U) on Saturday held its Extraordinary Annual General Meeting at Judicial Training Institute, Nakawa-Kampala, in which it elected High Court’s Lady Justice Henrietta Wolayo as president.

The well attended EOAGM also elected another High Court’s Lady Justice Elizabeth Jane Alividza as Vice President; Supreme Court’s Justice Stella Arach-Amoko (representative of IAWJ-U founder members); and Magistrate G1, HW Roseline Nsenge (Publicity Secretary).

Others included HW Janeva Natukunda (representative of Chief Magistrates); HW Patience Tukundane (second representative for Magistrates Grade One) HW Fortunate Kamukama (representative for Magistrates Grade Two).

The meeting saw the amendment of the NAWJU Constitution; to include provision for situations where an executive member resigns suddenly before completion of their term of office as well as circumstances relating to an incapacitated or dead executive member.
